China's National Meteorological Center on Sunday issued yellow alerts for rainstorms, warning of widespread heavy to torrential rainfall from 2 p.m. Sunday to 2 p.m. Monday across parts of more than ten provinces, including Heilongjiang, Jilin, Shanxi, Hebei, Guangxi, Guangdong and Yunnan, China Media Group reported.

Some locations, including eastern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, northwestern Guangdong and eastern coastal areas, are expected to experience extremely heavy rainfall, with localized accumulations reaching 250 to 320 millimeters. Some of the affected areas will also see short-duration intense downpours, with maximum hourly precipitation reaching 20 to 50 mm, and localized bursts exceeding 80 mm.

Severe convective weather is expected in some areas. Strong gales and hail are forecast for parts of northwestern, northern and southeastern China, with wind speeds exceeding force 8, and potentially surpassing force 10 in areas such as central Gansu, southeastern Fujian and central Guangdong.

Parts of Xinglong County in Chengde City, Hebei Province, will continue to experience rainfall over the next three days. To prepare for the heavy rain, all residents from seven villages in Liudaohe Town, Hebei Province, are required to evacuate. A temporary shelter at Liudaohe Middle School has been set up, providing more than 800 beds along with adequate supplies of bedding, food, first aid kits, and commonly used medications.

Alerts for mountain torrents and geological disasters have been issued in multiple affected areas. Orange and yellow warnings are in place for regions at high risk of landslides, mudslides and flash floods, including parts of Gansu, Qinghai, Beijing and southwestern provinces.

Authorities are advising the public to avoid mountainous areas and river valleys prone to geological disasters in order to prevent secondary hazards.
